To get started with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET (VS 2005) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Click the Start button Choose Microsoft Visual Studio 2005/2008 and double click on it to activate the application. You should be in the start Page. (This is the point you may have choose a language environment, you may have to set it yourself.) Setting Up a Project: Once the application (VS 2005/2008) is active, click on File tab: Click New , and select Project . (Can use hot key Ctrl + Shift + N instead) A new project window will pop up. On the New Project window do the following: 1. Under Project types , locate and click on Win32 2. Under Visual Studio installed templates (on the right side of the panel)click and select Win32 Console Application . 3. In the Name box type in a name for your project, such as assign1, John1,… 4. In the Location box make sure it says C:\Student . 5.
