Mike Heaton Eng 121-001 Reny Lordich 08 September 2009 A Hanging I didn’t really like this story. It shows just how desensitized people today are about death. There are a couple of things that I think should deserve the death penalty, but I don’t think that it should be turned into some kind of show that people go to for fun. I would be happy if I never had to watch another person die and I would hope that most other people feel the same way. I think that the people who would want to watch a hanging are mest up in the head. Today there is so much death and murders around us that people don’t even pay attention anymore. On the news that is all you hear about anymore, people don’t even stop to think about it anymore they just want to get back to

Unformatted text preview: their normal life. It’s just like in the story how the superintendant and all the inmates were rushing to hang that guy so that they can go eat breakfast. No one cared about that guy and how he might have felt lucky for eight more minutes of life. Handing would not be a good way to die either. Like in the story when that person was telling the superintendant about how hangings go bad and all he had to say was I think I have some whisky in my car lets all have a drink. It is like he is saying yep lets drink to that like he doesn’t care at all. That person was just another number to him. He doesn’t care how he dies as long as he dies. Our society doesn’t value life like we should....
