Mike Heaton Eng 121-001 Reney Lordich 26 October 2009 Questions from Readings 1. I think that the reason that Jonathan used satire in A Modest Proposal is because it was such a crazy idea that he wrote about that satire was the only way he could have done it without being hated. I mean he wrote that whole thing on eating babies. 2. Dave Barry played with the various forms of your because he was showing how weird the English language can be. Then he just made up all the answers to be funny. He said yore referred to the days of yore. This was funny because he was trying to sound intelligent but was actually just bullshitting all the answer. 3. I think that people think their pet’s bad behavior is funny because they don’t know how to teach their pet’s good behavior. Instead of stopping their pets bad habits they just laugh at it. 4. In our society as you age you get less attractive and depending on your position you can actually lose your job especially women. For example a news broadcaster, they change the women broadcasters every few years. The
