C ONCERT S UGGESTIONS The Philadelphia Orchestra This is probably the most natural and convenient choice. They offer multiple concerts each week at the Kimmel Center, located at Broad and Spruce. College students can sign up for eZseatU, which is a season pass for only $25. Student Understudy tickets ($10/concert) and Student Rush tickets ($8/concert) are also available. http://www.philorch.org/collegestudents.html The Opera Company of Philadelphia The OCP is presenting Puccini’s Madama Butterfly on October 9, 11, 14, 16, and 18. Student Rush tickets ($10 with ID) should be available. Call 215-893-1999 on the day of the concert to confirm that they are. Rush tickets go on sale 30 minutes prior to the event at the Kimmel Center Box Office, and there is a limit of one per person. Its one of the worlds premiere opera houses and features a range of productions starring the best opera singers. http://www.metoperafamily.org/metopera/ The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society If youd rather hear a solo artist or small ensemble, the PCMS offers concerts at a variety of venues (including museums, churches, and the Kimmel Center). There will also be a number of smaller choral and chamber concerts going on, and ensembles from Penns music department will present concerts towards the end of the semester.
