DISCUSSION - Heroin, cocaine, and meth are being traded in the Latin American countries. - Specific countries and their war on drugs within their countries - Problems with stopping the drug trade into the US -- Due to the lack of economic opportunities many Latin American countries have turned to drug trade to support themselves -- Mexican drug trade. --- 28.5 billion dollars worth of drugs cross the US border every year from Mexico. --- Border violence is at an all time high and Mexico’s government is struggling to keep control of its country. ---Mexican Mafia gang violence is beginning to spread worldwide. -- Colombian drug trade. -- FARC controls much of the mountains of the countries.
