CHAPTER 10 Case 1: 1. A team has to have the following characteristics: It should have a goal, which means it also needs to have a collective performance. Another characteristic of a team is to have a positive synergy. Individual and mutual accountability, as well as complementary skills are other characteristics of a team. This group is a team because it has all of the above characteristics. The goal of this team was to come up with a state-of-the-art computer database and analysis tools that is used for counseling clients. In order to achieve this goal, the team had to use complementary skills. This specific product required professionals that understand the law as well

The programs were developed by highly trained individuals: Tom, a tax lawyer; Cy, tax accountant and computer science graduate; Marge, a tax lawyer; and Megan, a tan accountant. During team work, all of the team members skills were merged to achieve one single goal. This team also demonstrated a collective performance in achieving their goal.
