CASE STUDY QUESTIONS The Health Board focuses on the patients’ needs, and it is one of the largest public health care providers in New Zealand. Being a non-profit organization, surplus funds are allocated to supporting patients, research, and education, it has Approximately 2 million patient contacts every year and provides Regional services for 30% of New Zealand’s population. The organization structured around 7 business units: There are 4 specialist teaching hospitals and others like community health services, mental health services and Clinical support services. Health funding in NZ is divided into 21 District Health Boards (DHBs), each DHB is Responsible for improving, promoting, and protecting the health of the population it serves. All DHB decisions are made in regards to local needs, within national guidelines, and funding is allocated depends on the size of each DHB, every Health Board comprised of 11 members: 7 elected and 4 appointed, all members answer directly to the minister of health In order to make the ES more functionality and efficiency and the the oracle 10.7
