*** Initial setup: (WINDOWS VISTA) install SSVNC: http://www.karlrunge.com/x11vnc/ssvnc.html#download unzip the download install putty (http://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty.exe) In Putty Click on Session - Hostname = planets.physics.ucf.edu - Connection = SSH Click on Connections -> Data - Enter your username in the auto-login field Click on Session - Type in saved sessions 'Planets' and click save Click 'Open' to connect Say yes to query about host Enter your login password when prompted You should now be logged in and looking at a shell command prompt. At the shell prompt: Type 'vncpasswd' to set a VNC password (not login password) This should be a simple word that you might share. You will not see your password as you type it. Open .bashrc by using your favorite text editor Eg., 'emacs ~/.bashrc' Use arrow keys to scroll down to 'vncsrv ()' Eg., 1280x1024 If you donâ±qt know your resolution, ask for help
