Check out the chapters first before you go to the survey. Here's some basic info about what you'll find in each chapter. Chapter 6 -- How our Solar System formed, how did the planets form, what are the basic properties of the Solar System, what are other "Solar" Systems like, how people find planets orbiting other stars. Chapter 7 -- How did Earth turn out the way it did, with stable climate and life? Why didn't the other terrestrial planets turn out that way? What's the deal with "global warming," why might we need to worry about it? What spacecraft are we sending to the other planets? Chapter 8 -- What are the outer, giant planets like? How are they similar/different? What are their moons like? What are their rings like? What spacecraft are we sending to the other planets? Chapter 9 -- What are asteroids and comets like? Why might we need to worry about asteroids hitting Earth and ruining civilization? What is Pluto like -- and why is it not a "planet" any more? What are meteor showers?
