Lindsay Curtis 9/16/08 Culture Review #1 Mexican Americans, also known as Chicanos, have constantly fought to find their identity within American culture. This cultural group is a blend of Mexican and American culture, with Mexican Americans trying to find an appropriate balance between the two. The Chicanos have been pushed away by Americans for too many years, all the while enduring their own personal conflict of trying to find their personal identity. Though the struggle has changed over time, Chicanos are still experiencing a difficult time in America, even though America claims to be one of the most accepting countries in the world. The Plan of Delano and El Plan Espiritual de Aztlán are documents that demonstrate the voice of Chicanos long ago. Both documents display the unity amongst the Chicanos, as well as the anger they developed from years of oppression. The Plan of Delano was a plan to liberate the farm workers that worked to harvest grapes in California. The plan was a call for human justice for the Mexican Americans,
