files will be called “Lecture notes ” on the class website and will be numbered as in the Course Outline below. Please note that information on the transparencies is often incomplete. The transparencies will be weekly scanned, the instructor will annotate them, and make them available to you on the BIS 101-003 site at “My UC Davis”. The annotated transparencies will be placed in the “Annotated Transparencies ” folder on the website. Please compare the annotated transparencies with your own lecture notes and note additional information added by the instructor. Grading : Your course grade is based on two midterm and final examinations. Their dates and places are in Course Outline below. A total of 400 points is possible in the course. You will be graded on a grade curve, and the mean is at the B-/C+ boundary. Midterm examination I: 100 points Midterm examination II: 100 points Final examination: 200 points The final examination covers all presented material. Midterm examination I covers material from the beginning of the course to (including) the material actually covered on October 9 , 2009 (not what is in Course Ouline on that date!). Midterm examination II covers material from October 13 , 2009 to (including) material actually covered on October 30 . The midterms will be held in 198 Young, as indicated in the Course Outline.
