Chapter 4 and 5 Mike Solomich 1. Efficiency IT metrics focus on the technology itself. They could use one of many techniques: throughput, transaction speed, system availability, information accuracy, web traffic, and response time. Throughput is the amount of information that can travel through a system at any point. Transaction speed is the amount of time a system takes to perform a transaction. Web traffic includes a host of benchmarks such as the number of page views, the number of unique visitors, and the average time spent viewing a web page. 2. Effectiveness IT metrics are determined according to an organizations goals, strategies, and objectives. They should use one of the many techniques: usability, customer satisfaction, conversion rates, and financial. Usability is the ease with which people perform transactions and/or find information. Conversation rates are the number of customer an organization touches for the first time and persuades to purchase its products or services. 3.
