1. Being a department manager I would be reporting to one person and I would order around one person below me in a functional organization. I would have a certain amount of responsibilities, instead of sharing them. But in an organizational structure everyone shares the same values, assumptions, beliefs, and norms that unite the members of an organization. 2. Responsibility is the duty to perform a task that has been assigned and authority is the formal right of a manager to make decisions and give orders that are carried out by others, meanwhile, accountability is the expectation that the manager must be able to justify results to a manager at a higher level. When a manager delegates work to a subordinate the responsibility, authority, and accountability change to the subordinate. 3. Centralization allows management to coordinate the various parts of the organization in a consistent manner. Decentralization provides greater flexibility to respond to change.
