Amanda Thomann English 101 (Fri) Stewart 10-26-07 St Vincent de Paul vs. Salvation Army St Vincent de Paul has a huge variety of services. Mostly, requests for services are for food but the amount of help depends solely on donations. Only about one hundred people per month can be helped. Not only can you receive their services but they do allow volunteers to help. The Salvation Army also offers variety of services, but it seems that certain services are available only to certain areas. Both centers have been established for hundreds of years. I have chosen to research the Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul in order to gain more knowledge into what our community has to offer. I don’t know anything about St Vincent de Paul, or when exactly they were established. I’ve heard that they help the homeless with somewhere to sleep and a few small meals per day, and I do remember seeing billboards around town about programs like theirs. On the other hand, a family member of mine has used the services of the Salvation Army. They helped with
