Assignment 8 Question 3 Motor carrier is the most used method of shipping. Motor carrier is effective, efficient and uses publically owned roads. Any distance below 500 miles and weight below 15,000lbs is usually best transported by motor carrier. Motor carrier will continue to be the most common freight transportation for years to come but unstable oil prices will cause transportation prices to be constantly changing. Government regulations will also put limits on the use of motor carriers Question 7 Railroads have the largest share of intercity miles because they usually travel very long distances.
