How does closeness between parents and children vary across the life cycle? They are close growing up but distance themselves during adolescence, then they become closer again as they reach adulthood 3. Why may intergenerational ambivalence be more common now than in the past? Because people are living longer and are being taken care of by their children which can cause ambivalence in a houshold 4. What two strategies do elderly divorced or unmarried fathers use to find care? They either try to come back and be integrated with their distanced family, or they marry someone their age Why may one strategy not work as well now as it used to?
