Project Charter Project Information Project Name Sponsor Date ITIL Implementation Dave Huth 10/6/05 Mission Implement process improvements within OIT in accordance with best practices outlined by ITIL. Ensure that process improvements that are put in place are in line with strategic objectives of OIT as well as the findings from the ITIL Capability Maturity Model assessment performed in August 2005. Process improvements will be undertaken in virtually every area of OIT and Netcom. Changes implemented through this process should be incremental in nature and must remain focused on improving service delivery and service management to the customer. Phase 1 of the project is focused on efforts that can be completed in 6 months or less. Phase 2 will focus on efforts beyond the 6 month horizon. Many smaller efforts make up the entirety of this project. Each of these efforts may incur both capital and labor costs. Managers that are responsible for individual efforts under each of the ITIL process categories will estimate and compile budgets for purposes of estimating overall project cost and the cost of implementing improvements in each process area. Key Milestones Milestone Date Est. Cost Executive summary report based on assessment findings 10/11/05 $2,500 Project schedule and budget prepared 10/20/05 $2,500 Begin phase 1 improvements
