MARKETING 2 INTRODUCTION Marketing is the process of buying and selling goods and services. It is the process of promoting, distributing and selling commodities where this process involves market researches and advertisements. Marketing is a study that involves the management of business exchange relationships. Marketing business involves the creation of relationships with customers as well as the satisfaction of the customer through a quality and desirable exchange. Marketing is not only considered to be the primary element of business management but also commerce since it attracts customers to the business. In marketing, products can either be directed to other businesses or customers directly. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) stresses the use of unified communication as well as the integration of telecommunication. Computers, middleware systems, storage and enterprise software help users in accessing, storing, transmitting and manipulation of information. Using a link system, computer networks are used in the coverage of telephone networks. ICT is composed of communication devices, computers, mobile phones, satellite systems, and network software and hardware. ICT is very important in the running of any business. The use of ICT in a company helps in the expansion and improvement of its efficiency by improving customer services and customer demands. USE OF ICT IN MARKETING a) Advertisements Advertisements and advertising are marketing communication where the message in the adverts helps in the promotion and/or selling of commodities, services as well as business ideas. Advertisements and prompts are in many cases found on websites, newspapers, mail, and televisions. For example, the i-Tune websites are used by customers to buy as well as download music. This type of marketing is a direct business with customers. The websites where the advertisements are posted are developed by the companies using ICT knowledge. b) Promotional presentations In marketing, PowerPoint presentations and video presentations are used in companies. These presentations are created using the knowledge of ICT. They are

The use of slide shows helps in the brief elaboration of goods. c) Use of questionnaires Questionnaires are used as a research tool and also in marketing. When a questionnaire is well designed, the company will be able to collect accurate information and up to date data. The wording in questionnaires should be properly arranged for easy understanding. The gathered information helps the company to increase sales. On the other hand, companies can know where to establish another industry in case of a deficiency of some products in the area.
