Stage: Warm-up Page: Time: 5-6mins. Method: Who is this man? 9 The teacher introduces the topic by writing on the board, Who is this Man? 9 Invites the students to listen carefully. 9 I know a man. 9 He has an interesting look. 9 People stop, stare and smile at him along the streets as he passes. 9 His language is signs and symbols. 9 He appears in a different outlook. 9 Hasn’t many friends, and sparingly goes to places. 9 But he wears a determined look always. 9 Who can tell me who this man is? 9 The first student to get it has a reward. Comments Aim: By the end of this stage, students would be able to write something about a foreigner. Stage: Practice. Page: Time: 12mins. Method: I have a dream. 9 The teacher invites the students to take out a sheet of paper. 9 Invites the students to write down their opinions individually. 9 You have an urgent letter from the Chinese ministry of education. 9 You were one of the lucky students. 9 You have scholarship to go for you Master’s degree in one the biggest universities in Philippines. 9
