Comic Books Teacher Day Time Branch TA Class Resources needed: 2 comic books: one super hero type and one “one shot” or stand alone comic. Copies of Blank comics. I.E. there are pictures, but the thought bubbles and word bubbles are blank. Aim: Students will learn about basic comic books. Students will share their experiences with comic books, if any. They’ll also share comics they have read. Stage: Intro Page: Time: 10 – 15 min Method: Ask Ss if they know what a comic book is. Have they read any Chinese comic? How about Western? Japanese? Take this time to write them all out on the board. And label them as such. Ask if these comics are “current?” Are there new issues every week? Month? Year? Comments Aim: Students will learn how a comic book is created. Stage: Processes Page: Time: 20 min Method: Show examples of comics to class. (Photocopied hand outs too) Show them the areas that have the PUBLISHER. Explain what a Publisher is. Show them the area that has the writers, artist and if the writer and artist is the
