Highlight “standard calculations” and then click on “problem setup”and then select, “thermo model selection” and “phi-phi approach”’ Highlight “standard calculations” and then click on “problem setup”and then select, “add task” and then click on OK (or change the list of compounds and then OK) Highlight “task” and then click on “problem setup”and then select, “add calculation” and “equilibrium based”

4 5. Provide the distillation design data ( reflux ratio , feed stream data, key-compounds , and compounds to be shown in the plot (only 2 and/or 3 compounds can be selected for the plot). 6. For specified distillate composition & flow , calculate bottom composition & flow. Press “calculate” box; if chosen reflux ratio greater than minimum, solution will be found. 7. For reflux ratio > minimum, the two operating lines must intersect (each point indicates an equilibrium stage. Click on result 1 or result 2 to view the results. 8. Transfer the design results (number of plates, feed location, column profiles, etc.) to ICAS main menu.
