Decisions in Paradise KavaCorp Abstract The island of Kava presents the organization of KavaCorp with an opportunity of expanding its presence. However, there are various factors to consider, before decisions can be made as to how to go about such an expansion. This paper seeks to identify issues and risks associated with such a proposed venture, and their impact on various stakeholders. Some forces and influences that may have an impact on the decision are briefly explored. 2

Decisions in Paradise KavaCorp Decisions in Paradise KavaCorp are in the business of extracting the natural resource of oil, which it converts to petroleum and other by products, such as plastic raw material, lubricating oil, gasoline and diesel. These products are exported for consumption globally. The organization uses existing technology to process its products, and finds innovative ways of effective and efficient distribution. Purpose of the decision The purpose of the decision is to whether or not to establish a greater presence in Kava. Mission of the organization for Kava KavaCorp aims to do what is good for the organization and good for the people of Kava by consistently striving to do what is right. KavaCorp recognizes the mutual benefit that will be gained by both itself and the people of Kava by implementing efficient processes and organizational structures whilst maintaining high ethical standards. Defining the issues Kava has a very diverse population consisting of South Pacific tribes, Asian, African, French, Spanish and Americans. The population holds many diverse beliefs, attitudes and ideologies, and religions. Kava’s population speaks many diverse languages, including indigenous, English, Spanish, and French.
