Glomerular Filtration Rate.
7.2 –FILTRATION, REABSORPTION, AND
7.2.1 – Filtration
Describe the overall processes of filtration, reabsorption, secretion,
Kidneys filter blood. Blood passes through the afferent
arterioles and continues into the glomerulus. Eventually, blood
will be filtered through the fenestrated endothelium, basement
membrane, and visceral layer. The filtration will flow into the
Bowman’s capsule to enter the nephron.
Explain what the
Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR)
Measuring rate of kidney filtering blood.
What is the normal GFR range?
How does blood pressure change the GFR?
Describe how autoregulation of the afferent and efferent arterioles
work to maintain the proper pressure in the Glomerulus.
own diagram to show this process.
