Abstract: The folded cascode amplifier is a special variation of an amplifier where the amplifier employs a cascode transistor with an opposite type from an input differential pair and hence achieves more swing for the output than the telescopic structure. It exhibits a reasonably high frequency response with a moderate gain at the cost of higher power consumption and noise. Design Specifications: Supply (VDD): 2.7V Power Dissipation: Around 1.2mW quiescent power Input Common Mode Range: +/-0.5V around mid supply of 1.35V Maximum Output Swing: 1V peak-to-peak swing at the output Distortion: While configured as an inverting amplifier with gain of 6dB, HD3 of 50dB, with 1V peak-to-peak swing driving 15pF capacitance.
