HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT LESSONS LEARNED 2 Human Resource Management Lessons Learned Introduction The human resource management field has several areas that students learn in their course. As such, this paper looks at the different topics that I have learned or covered since the start of the course. The paper explains the topics using examples and their importance in HR management and professionals; especially HR managers. Operating within the Legal Framework During the course, we have covered the importance of HR managers and department operating within and complying with legal frameworks. As such, human resource managers must comply with different legal issues that compound business organizations. these include complying with employment, health and safety as well as other essential legislations applicable to their jurisdiction where their firms operate. As such, HR management must ensure that they comply with federal, state and local laws related to different areas of HR activities like recruitment, compensation and benefits, labor relations and termination of employment (Odina, 2018). The HR management should also consider the legal mandates for training of employees; especially on issues like drugs, safety as well certain occupational training. Further, laws and rules on apprenticeship programs are essential. Under this topic, HR should also consider characteristics of intellectual property laws, ethics, and privacy laws related to the practice. In addition, the topic also shows that taxation laws and regulations impact human resource development and HR practitioners in different organizations should always review these areas. HR managers in organization must ensure that employees are treated in manner that corresponds with existing legal frameworks (Odina, 2018). For instance, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act is an essential legal framework that inform how

Additionally, HR departments and managers must consider provisions that ban discrimination and work collaboratively with regulatory bodies like the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Creating a culture of Wellbeing This topic is critical and illustrates that successful organizations are keen on building a culture of wellbeing for their employees. For instance, many employers are keen on developing wellbeing programs but to not institute a culture of wellbeing. This topic is emphatic that as leaders, HR managers should create a culture of wellbeing in their organizations to attain effective performance and durability of the employees (Purcell, 2019).
