Ok to use mature mechanisms, four groups i. Psychotic: Denial & Delusions 1. Escaping to a different reality 2. We cant just say something & do away with reality ii. Immature: Projection & Hypochondriasis 1. Cant always use these things to get attention iii. Neurotic: Isolation & Displacement 1. Dont let our problems get blown out of proportion, not such bad methods iv. Mature: Sublimination, Humor, & Suppression 1. Good to channel negative energy into something positive, suppression is ok because youre postponing but you can always return to it Processes?
