Michael RobinsonITT 121March 1, 2020Perform Windows System Backup and RestoreFirst thing to do is install windows server backup. Navigate to server manager > add roles and features.Continue through the prompts until you reach features. Mark the checkbox labeled windows server backup utility. Then click install. Once install is complete the application can be closed.
Open Windows Server Backup > Backup on the right hand side > follow through the following prompts selecting the appropriate time backups should occur > user will be prompted for location of backup, insert path for location of backup > Then click Finish. That will successfully initiate the backup schedule to occur.
Next the user must open the task scheduler application. Then click library > Windows > Backup. On the right-hand side user must click properties. Ensure that the system is set to the correct OS and ensure that the task will stop if taking longer than 2 hours and will run on demand. Next on the right-hand side click on the run function to initiate the backup manually outside of the selected timeframe.

PERFORM AN AUTHORITATIVE RESTORATION:User must first restart the domain controller of interest. Next when prompted with the menu to select the correct OS, the user should press F8. Next, from the windows advanced options menu select Directory Services restore Mode and press enter. Select Windows OS. Use the restore mode password and then log on as the admin. Windows will be running in safe mode. Initiate the windows backup application by navigating to windows home > accessories application > System Tools > backup > restore and navigate to the location where the backup is stored. Upon completion of the AD recovery close all windows and confirm restart of computer.
Enable Active Directory Recycle Bin:Go to Server Manager > Active Directory Administrative Center > local domain > Enable Recycle Bin > OKNext delete users and they will then reappear in the deleted section under the domain.Click on recover by selecting them and they will be moved back.
