To add roles and features, click on Manage in the upper right-hand corner of the server manager window. Then click “Add roles and features” in the drop down. Click “next” in the window that appears. You will have two options in the installation type tab, we will use “Role based and Feature based installation.” Click “next” to get started.
Next will be the server selection screen. There should be only one to select at this time. We will keep the radial button on “Select a server from the server pool.” Click “next”. The next area will be where you can select the roles you would like to add to the server. Select “Active Directory Domain Services” and “DNS”. You may get a pop-up warning when you select DNS stating that no static IP address is set. You can hit install anyway as this can be corrected later if needed. Then click “Next”.
Next is the Features selection. Keep all that are highlighted and click “next”. Next will be an informational page about DNS server, when done reading click “Next”. Another informational page will appear for AD, click “next” once done reading. The confirmation page will appear, not you can click on “install”.
The installation process will begin. There is a progress bar will fill when done. When completed, you can click the “close” button. Next click on AD DC where you will see that AD DC needs to be configured. Click on “more” on the warning bar.
A pop-up window will appear with your listed server. On the top line, click under the action pane where
