In this paper, the authors discussed in depth different type of machines that use the idea of  instruction-level parallelism,  they mentioned the main factors that affect their performance and  stated the main differences between them specifically between Superscalar and Superpipelined  machines. They also summarized the main factors and difficulties that faces parallelism in  Underpipelined, VLIW, Superscalar, Superpipelined, Superpipelined Superscalar and vector  machines. Uniprocessor machines evolution The improvement of uniprocessor machines is always the hot research sod computer designer.  Many of proposed solutions to improve Uniprocessor machines performance is exploiting  instruction-level parallelism . So, new machines can handle and process more than one  instruction at the same time in many machines such as : superscalar, superpipelined machines  and others. The following table summarize basic differences between these machines. I
