     Intelligence and Talent    If a group of people are given a set of  cognitive tests some people tend to do  better on all the tests and other people  tend to do worse on all the tests.   Spearman proposed that the correlation  in test performance to some general  ability, g, that some people had more of  than others.  Of course, each test also  required specific abilities, s 1 , s 2 , etc.
