Unformatted text preview: Patricia Ramos Lauren Maloney Chem. 1310 G2 Bijal Shah Experiment 3 Discussion/Conclusion : Experiment 3 was done in order to observe different classes of reactions. The experiment was separated into Nature of solutions and types of Chemical reactions. The nature of solutions focused on the Nature of aqueous solutions. This lab showed that what is important in an aqueous solution is understand what solutes are dissolved in the solvent water, and whether they dissociate in water creating solvated ions. One of the simplest methods of understanding what is dissolved and even what is the solvent is to measure the electrical conductivity of the aqueous solution. This is the method used in this lab. We prepared three different types of aqueous solutions each with three different compounds to analyze. The first type was dissolved only. We had one beaker with just distilled water, one with .01M Ethanol and one with .01M Sucrose. The second type was Soluble Salts .The last Acids. The different compounds had with ....
