Patricia Ramos  Lauren Maloney Chem. 1310 G2 Experiment 2 During the experiment we used the idea of boiling and melting to figure out what certain samples  where. By weighing a sample and the heating it several times we can identify it. This is done because we boil  the water off which lets us know how much of the sample was in fact water.  When we figure out the  percentage of water we find how hydrated the sample was and then can identify the final sample. A way of figuring out whether sample we have is Iron (II) or Iron (III) we can follow a simple
