To: Professor Vogel, Instructor ENGL3130 From: Joe Doyle, James Effington, Alex Gawrys, Shontay Evans Subject: Requesting approval for "Group Proposal" in Learning Unit 5 Date: September 22, 2009 The purpose of this memo is to present a group proposal for the final project due in Learning Unit 15 and gain approval. Introduction Our subject for the final project will be a technical report regarding personal computers. The intended audience will be consumers [people] who use PCs either for home entertainment or home office needs. This report is not intended for business or commercial industries. [This is clear from the preceding sentence.] Our aim is to educate consumers so that good decisions can be made to make good decisions [Use the passive voice appropriately – see pp.234-235] when choosing components for PCs based on [ unique] individual desires. Consumers do not want to spend extra money on features that they don't need. Conversely, they don't want to spend too little and purchase components that can't perform the intended function.
