55 Word Processing The overall capability of word processing that we will emphasis is communication Word processing provides tools to allow the user to create an ordered set of text and graphics that explains clearly the information the user wants to communicate Tools can be thought of as being used for input, processing (e.g., formatting) and output (e.g., printing) of information The user interface in Word 2007 has changed significantly from that in many previous versions, which used menus and submenus, to a new metaphor called the ribbon
