Unformatted text preview: Problem Solving 1 Problem Solving: Process for Solving Time Management Problems in the Workplace Student Name Here CM225 College Composition II Professor April Burge August 11, 2009 Problem Solving 2 Problem Solving: Process for Solving Time Management Problems in the Workplace I have four main duties that I need to complete on a daily basis at work. Each of these duties has various tasks and processes within them. I often leave much of the work incomplete and have to come back to it the next day. Doing this causes me to fall behind in my duties for the following day and leaves me always playing catch up. I need to be able to complete all or as many of my daily tasks within the 8 hour work day and allow as little work to run over into the next day as I possibly can. I know that there are some circumstances that may arise and may keep me from completing all tasks, but if I keep myself far enough ahead these circumstances will prove to be minor. After carefully analyzing my day to day activities, I found that there are many factors that contribute to me not being able to complete my tasks. Some of them include constantly checking and answering email, answering my phone, assisting other people with their tasks when I havent completed my own, stopping to read the news on line, and socializing. Another factor is the fact that I do not have a structured way to go about completing my tasks. In order to solve my problem I could use a daily scheduler to define what tasks I need to complete each day and schedule times to complete them.
