Course Description This course reviews the complete accounting cycle and the creation and management of accounting information for business entities. Particular emphasis will be placed on the fundamental principles and skills of the accounting profession, including recording of transactions, financial presentation of accounting data, and the uses of accounting information. Course Objectives By the end of this course, you should be able to: 1. Explain how accounting information is used 2. Complete journal entries using the accrual basis of accounting 3. Explain the steps of the accounting cycle 4. Prepare income statements, statements of owner's equity, and balance sheets using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles 5. Illustrate accounting for inventories and merchandise transactions 6.
