Polar means that the atoms in the bond have an uneven distribution of charge. b) Distinguish between polar-covalent and nonpolar-covalent bonds. Polar-covalent bonds is a covalent bond in which the bonded atoms have an unequal attraction for the shared electrons. In nonpolar-covalent bonds, on the other hand, bonding electrons are shared equally by both atoms. 5. In general, what determines whether atoms will form chemical bonds?
