Veronica Vigil MGT 457 Issue 16 America’s Racism Racism is not simply something that left a scar in America’s past, but rather, something that has been engrained into our culture. People will often say that we no longer have the racism of our history, and I say, we have only learned to hide it better. Racism captures our history as a nation, our social segregation and the resounding effect of a bred culture. To try to understand how a western civilized country such as ours can still harbor these feelings while touting a banner of solidarity and embracing of multicultural people, we will delve deeper into the issues. From the start of this nation, we have seen racism as a means by which people have justified slavery and even segregation. No one is trying to say the Americas were the first to have slavery or even the ones to promote it, but they played a crucial role in engraining superiority into the American culture. White Americans brought slaves into this county by the thousands to exploit, dehumanizing a group of people. If Americans
