ACIS 1504 – Personal Computers in Business Database Homework Instructions Querying a Database Download Database Homework Datafile.mdb from Blackboard. Change the name of the database file to your PID, that is your username. For example, my email address is lacoste@vt.edu so I would name the file lacoste.mdb. You cannot do this in Access because the file must be closed. You can do this in Windows Explorer. If you encounter warning messages when you try to open the database, simply ignore them and progress by answering NO, YES and OPEN. If you need help with this assignment, please contact your instructor or one of the tutors at the Center for Academic Enrichment and Excellence. Any other individuals or organizations will be considered a violation of the Honor Code. You may use your notes, the textbook, or Access help. You must use Access to complete this assignment. You may be able to complete the entire assignment in an older version of Access. If you do not have access to Microsoft Access, you can find the application installed on computers in Pamplin 2010 and other labs on campus. Remember to safeguard your work so no one else has access to your solution files. Take a moment to peruse the database file and familiarize yourself with the tables and fields. Create the eight queries described on the next page. Important instructions to note: You should have exactly eight queries when you are finished with the assignment. Begin the name of each query with the question number.
