Structure of family that has history of inquisition/persecution Silence is big transmitter of trauma Example Parents who refuse to disclose the past to their children in the 20 th century even though their children knew that there was something different about their families they got that in their family the rituals were different and made no sense in the culture that they were raised many children asked mothers and grandmothers why we are different and their would be a silence do not talk about those things silence is big
