Dealing with Distractions Group 2
SLEEP It is known that when you're tired you cannot focus. 8 hours of sleep every night will allow you to be more focused. Some ways to go to bed earlier are: Have a bedtime routine Read a book before bed Do not have any caffeine after 3pm Go to bed at the same time every night
SNACKS When studying it can be very distracting when you get hungry or thirsty. You can lose focus when you get up to make a snack or get a drink. To keep your focus it is best to carry snacks with you so you do not have to get up from studying to get a snack.
MEDITATION Meditation lengthens attention span. It is possible to reverse patterns in the brain that contribute to mind-wandering,worrying, and poor attention by meditating. Just four days of practicing meditation may be enough to increase attention span.
Putting Away Electronics Any work that requires a focused mind will benefit from a media break.
