Where I Was Raised On Sep. 22, 1791, I was born in Newington Butts, South London, England where I lived with my parents and three other siblings. We didnt have much money, so I had to educate myself and get a job as a book binder to raise some money where I came across The Improvement of the Mind by Isaac Watts. QuickTime and a decompressor are needed to see this picture. THE REASON I BECAME A PHYSICIST! At 20 years old in 1812 I applied as a secretary to a chemist at the Royal Institution who eventually promoted me to a lab assistant because he saw me interest in science.
