UNIT 2: CHAPTER 4 Competing for a Continent, 1713 – 1750 France and Natives Americans France’s imperial efforts were focused on Louisiana -> New Orleans officials ext. port and capital.  Indian allies were the Choctaws Government run which made life bad for all races.  Slow export economy -> led to other means of survival. Indians relied on the land and the whites relied on farming and “negroes.”
