This course will also set the foundation for further finance courses. The main topics include: 1) Time value of money; 2) Capital budgeting & forecasting techniques; 3) Financial Statements and ratio analysis, 4) Risk and return; and 5) Bond and Stock Valuation. Course Objectives “A goal is a dream with a deadline” -Napoleon Hill This course is an introductory course designed to introduce students to the field of finance. At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to: Describe and understand the impact of time value of money and cash flows Understand the relationship between risk and return Define key financial terms and concepts Utilize various financial tools to make educated financial decisions Utilize different methods and tools to select and rank different capital projects Analyze and interpret financial statements and ratios Understand the use of stock and bond valuations in the financial markets

Calculators A scientific calculator with a square root function is required for this class. Please bring this calculator to every class, as it will be needed to complete assignments and quizzes. Financial calculators will not be necessary for this course.
