James Hutton-Changed the theory of Doctrine of Catastrophism and made NEW  DOCTRINE called “DOCTRINE OF UNIFORMITARIAISM” He was attacking the beliefs that we were only a few thousand years old. DOCTRINE OF UNIFORMITARIAISM- All physical and chemical laws that exist  today where also operating in the geological past. UNIFORMITARIAISM  -“  PRESENT IS KEY TO PAST” How did earth come to be? 1) Contraction on Nebular. 2)Rotation and Flattening. 3)Formation of Planetary rings. 4)Accretion of Planetary rings. Nebular: Large cloud of gas. Birth place of stars. When stars go critical they  explode!! And cause SUPER NOVA! Accretion of planetary rings?? Alignment of Planets
