Know What What is the technology?  What does it do? Know Why What are the advantages and benefits it offers? What are the costs and risks? Know How How should it be implemented to achieve the benefits? Know When When should it be implemented?  Are we ready to implement it? Know Where Where should it be implemented?  Are we likely to be able to avoid the risks and achieve the benefits? Does your project  evaluation provide  this information?

How would you gather this information for a  mature technology? Contact vendors Read reviews/articles Hire a consultant who has worked with the technology Interview current users of the technology Why is it difficult to get this kind of information  for an emerging technology? Because no one knows the answers…
