An increasing unease about the relationship with the Americans Ogdensburg Agreement -On august 17, 1940 a meeting took place on Roosevelt’s railway car - Here, in Ogdensburg NY king and Roosevelt made a defense agreement of North America without the consent of parliament or senate. Canada as a result was bound to this agreement with no expiry date being places. - CP Stacey believed King to be a sellout Hyde Park Declaration -each country should provide each other with defense articles - this is significant because Canada became the first foreign country ever to have access to war materials -in a defense situation the border was eradicated Jack Granatstein and Robert Bothwell believed that this agreement was good on
