Personality theories match up with personality assessments. A personality theory provides information on what types of variables should be incorporated in a personality assessment. The personality assessment will assess a person's personality based on the tests related personality theory. The four types of assessments are personal interviews, direct observations, objective tests, and projective tests. The personal interview is performed by a professional asking a string of questions, either structured or unstructured. Direct observation allows professionals to monitor the person in his or her ordinary surroundings. The demise is that having an onlooker around may cause the individual to act in a different way. Objective tests are reasonably priced and competent of testing numerous people. Objective tests consist of straightforward questions and are based on the persons self-report. Projective tests do not look as if they are personality tests and often consist of puzzles or game like tests.
