Angelo Sciarappa In the Tell Tale Heart, we hear the characters talk about his nerves and fears. The character keeps saying he is not mad, he's not crazy. He says he is going to prove he is not mad by explaining every step of the process. He could never predict what was about to happen next. There was no motive to kill the old man because he loved him. The narrator loved the old man but he had the vulture's eye. He hated his blue eye color and it made him sick when he saw it. The character decided to kill him. People assume that the main character is mad but since he is so precise and careful he believes he is sane. Every night he opened the old man's door and stalked him. Every morning he woke up, the narrator asked him about his day to get him to keep trusting the narrator. On the eight night he feels there is something special about that night. He thought the old man had heard him but he knew the old man couldn't see him.
