Sarah Ohlinger NFS 236 Mr. Kresge 26 November 2007 Review of the Nutritional Value of Diet as Calculated from 4 Analyses Upon reviewing the nutritional value of my diet as compared to national standards I found that my values were much higher. The standards for carbohydrates are around 300g/day and between the four programs my values were around 350-450 grams. The standards for sodium are around 1500-2400 mg and my values were between 4000-6280 mg, which are incredibly higher. My protein intake was around 100-219g compared to the national standard of 50 grams a day. The national standard for fat is around 65g/day and my intake was around 28-46g, which is a little under the standard. My saturated fat intake was between 6-13g and the national standard is around 20g, although it’s best to limit this type of nutrient. The standard for unsaturated fat is around 67g, and my intake was between 11-25 grams. My dietary fiber intake was between 17-25g and the standard is around 25g. My thiamin intake was between 1-3 mg and the standard is around 1.5mg.
